Cameroon and Serbia are both coming off opening game defeats and are now in a position where they really need to win. This should mean an open game to kick-off our World Cup Monday morning and as per usual, here on the Betfred Blog we take a gander at some of the key markets available on Betfred…
Serbian fans probably went into the Brazil game fully expecting an uphill battle but they held the favourites for over an hour before a Richarlison brace saw hopes of an upset rescind.
No Shots on Target is not exactly ideal but it was clear that Dragan Stojkovic set up his side to play defensively in the hopes of grinding out a goalless draw. They’ll surely play a bit more expansively against Cameroon and are likely to play two strikers rather than the 4-5-1 they deployed last time out.
We’ve added plenty of new player prop bets that are available around 24-48 hours before kick-off including tackles, assists and Shots on Target. You can check out all our latest prices for this one via the Latest Cameroon vs Serbia Odds button below.
As for Cameroon, they’ll be a bit disappointed not to come away from their game with Switzerland with no points for what was a pretty decent display. It was a relatively entertaining game and I feel good in thinking Rigobert Song and his side will come out and play in a similar manner against Serbia. This is why I quite like the BTTS to come in and at the time of writing that is priced up at 5/6.
In the all-important Match Result Market, I am getting the sense that we might see the upset. Serbia are odds-on with odds of 8/11. The draw (which does little for either side) is 11/4 with The Indomitable Lions a 4/1 shot. They looked good against the Swiss and a bit more luck could easily have seen them get a point or even all three.
I am a bit surprised that Under 2.5 is the favourite coming in at 8/11 with the Over an Even Money play. Neither team scored in their opening game – I get that – but on the flipside both need to win this game and it feels like a game that could really open up.
The penalty decisions seem to have slowed down a bit but 2/1 for a penalty to be awarded with 11/4 for one to be scored should still be very much in the forefront of minds when considering Bet Builders.
In terms of goalscorers, the three Serbian strikers are the top choices in the markets with Fulham’s Mitrovic the favourite priced up at 11/10 to hit the back of the net anytime.
Throughout this World Cup the Betfred Blog team will have a full betting preview and a big-priced Bet Builder for every game, so keep checking back with us for our latest World Cup pieces every day for Qatar 2022…
