France kicked off their World Cup campaign with an impressive display against Australia. The first half may not have been great but in the second 45 minutes they oozed class. Denmark laboured to a goalless draw with Tunisia, so very recent form suggests this looks good for a French victory. We take a look at some of the odds in the more popular betting markets on Betfred…
We’ll start this piece talking about France and just how good they looked in the second half against Australia. I know they only scored twice but you just felt that they looked like a real contender.
Olivier Giroud has plenty of detractors but he seems to link up extremely well with star man Kylian Mbappe who is widely considered to be the best player on the planet right now. The former Chelsea and Arsenal man scored twice with the PSG star also finding the back of the net. You can get the two of them both to hit the back of the net as a 5/1 double with us.
In addition to our usual betting markets, we’ve added plenty of new player prop bets that are available around 24-48 hours before kick-off. You can check out all our latest prices for this one via the Latest France vs Denmark Betfred Odds button below.
Denmark were extremely disappointing in their opener drawing 0-0 in a game that has already been completely erased from my mind despite the fact I know I watched it. They came into this tournament ranked the 10th best team in the world, no doubt ably assisted by their run to the semi-finals at Euro 2020. Defeat here could really see their progression at this tournament under significant peril. Therefore I feel as though they will try to keep it tight but that will be tough against France.
The French are odds on to win this one on Saturday afternoon coming in at 3/4. The draw is a 11/4 shot with the Danes priced up at 19/5 to come away from this group game with the three points.
When it comes to the goals markets, BTTS is 10/11 whilst the Over 2.5 is an even money shot. If you think France will score over 2.5 themselves then you can get them to do as such at 3/1.
Kylian Mbappe is a generous 11/8 to score anytime, which seems a tad big to me considering how many times he got in fantastic positions against Australia. I know Denmark are better than the Socceroos but still, this kid is unbelievable so a price of even money would be closer to what I’d be expecting. He only had one Shot on Target on Tuesday but he did have seven total efforts on goal. 3/1 for 3+ Shots on Target interests.
An even price play that I have noticed that feels good is Christian Eriksen to have a Shot on Target. He takes penalties and free kicks along with being a fine attacking midfielder in open play.
