Joe Perry +1.5 hcp – 8/11

These two seasoned professionals have played each other 19 times over the last 20 years and it’s Joe Perry who has the winning head-to-head record over Stuart Bingham, winning 9-6 with two draws.

48-year-old Perry pulled off one of the shocks of the round of 32 with a 6-2 demolition of favourite Neil Robertson, whilst Bingham won by the same score over Liam Highfield.

The two have played 144 frames over the years, with Perry winning 79-65.

Ding Junhui -1.5 hcp – 4/9

In the other afternoon game, China’s Ding Junhui faces off against Wales’ Jamie Clarke for a spot in the Quarter Finals.

The two have only played each other once in competitive snooker, with Ding winning 5-1 back in 2015. Junhui has a poor record in the last few years but last won a title here in York and looked good in his 6-3 win over Barry Hawkins.

Jamie Clarke progressed against Mark Williams, who had to leave the table due to food poisoning.

Shaun Murphy +2.5 – 4/6

One of the clashes of the last 16 sees Englishmen Shaun Murphy and Judd Trump do battle on the baize.

I tipped up Trump to win the tournament but he struggled to get past plucky Chinese Xiao Guodong 6-5. Murphy won by the same score against his compatriot David Gilbert to reach the last 16.

Trump leads the head-to-head 23-12 but the matches have been fairly close over the years and I like the look of Murphy with 2.5 frames start.

Jack Lisowski to win – 4/6

England’s Jack Lisowski looked in fine fettle, when smashing China’s Xu Si 6-1 in the last 32. He now faces Iran’s Hossein Vafaei in the last 16, who pulled off a huge shock in beating Mark Selby.

The 31-year-old has a great record against the Iranian, winning five of the six meetings between the two.
