The Championship returns on Saturday and there are 11 games from the second flight. We’ve previewed the early televised kick off from The Hawthorns and given you two suggested best bets.

West Brom vs Sheffield United Tips

Carlos Corberan takes charge of his first match as head coach of West Bromwich Albion and as any Huddersfield Town fan could tell you, it’s likely a guessing game, as to what formation he will select. Whatever the Spaniard selects, it’s urgent that he starts to pick up results, with The Baggies down in 23rd after 16 games of the season.  Albion have won just twice this season and have lost four of their last six.

Sheffield United, meanwhile, are in a sticky patch of their own. From top spot in the division, Paul Heckingbottom’s men are winless in six and have slipped down to 5th spot in the second tier. They have to right this ship quickly, before a prolonged bad run of results sees them drop out of the automatic promotion picture and possibly even the playoffs altogether.

Team news:

Corberan is without suspended centre-back Kyle Bartley as well as injured Martin Kelly, Semi Ajayi and Daryl Dike.

Heckingbottom has a whole host of injuries and will likely make sweeping changes here to the starting line up. Wes Foderingham is on the last of his three match ban.

Football Betting Odds

Sheffield United Draw no bet – 11/8

The Blades have been really poor in recent weeks but will have taken solace from the way they came back from 2-0 down against Norwich last week. They showed their class last year and at the start of this and I think this will be the opportunity to pick up a much needed three points. I’ve taken them on the DNB market to cover our backs slightly.

Oli McBurnie to score and be carded – 11/1

One man who was instrumental in that Norwich comeback was centre forward Oli McBurnie. Having been subbed on in the 64th minute, McBurnie scored the equaliser seven minutes later and let off five shots in total. The Scot is averaging three shots per game and 1.4 on target, with six goals to his name already this season.

As well as the six goals, the 26-year-old Yorkshireman is also accumulating cards. He has picked up four already this season and I like him to score and be carded here, in a must win game.
