Manchester City will be looking to wrap up top spot in Group C when they travel to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night in the Champions League.

Avoiding defeat will see the Citizens nail down that first place, on a night that sees star striker Erling Haaland make a return to the Westfalenstadion.

Borussia Dortmund vs Man City Betting Tips

  • Manchester City to win and over 2.5 goals – 23/10
  • Erling Haaland first goalscorer – 2/1

Team news

Citizens boss Pep Guardiola will have to continue without England pair Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips for the trip to Dortmund as they are still sidelined with groin and shoulder injuries respectively.

Sergio Gomez is suspended after his red card against FC Copenhagen in their last Champions League outing and has not travelled with the squad to Germany.

City did welcome back John Stones to the matchday squad for the 3-1 win over Brighton and he will be in contention to start, as will the likes of Phil Foden and Nathan Ake.

As for Dortmund, they have a number of names missing for the arrival of the Premier League champions.

Mahmoud Dahoud, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Sebastien Haller, Thomas Meunier and Mateu Morey are all sidelined for the game, while Nico Shlotterbeck is a doubt after coming off at the weekend with a calf injury.

BVB boss Edin Terzic will hope to have both Donyell Malen and Marco Reus available again, as the pair look set to recover from illness and a knock respectively.

Football Betting Odds

Manchester City to win and over 2.5 goals – 23/10

After the disappointment of their 1-0 defeat at Liverpool, City got back to more familiar winning ways last time out with that win over Brighton.

City were on an excellent run before their loss in Merseyside, on a run that included a 2-1 win over Dortmund at the Etihad Stadium.

The Citizens were made to work hard for the win that night in Manchester, with Haaland bagging the winning goal in the 84th minute.

City will be eager to make sure they don’t have to come from behind in Tuesday’s encounter and will be determined to make one of their typical fast starts to the game.

With BVB’s injury troubles and with City looking to secure top spot in the group, this might well be another win on the road for Guardiola’s side in what should be a high-scoring game.

Erling Haaland first goalscorer – 2/1

Considering his incredible form in front of goal this season, it would be little surprise to see Haaland bagging the opener on Tuesday.

After drawing a rare blank against Liverpool, the Norwegian was back to his scoring ways with a brace against the Seagulls.

Haaland enjoyed his time at Dortmund and built up a great relationship with the Bundesliga club’s fanatical supporters.

However, it might well be more muted celebrations from the now City star if he scores the opener in the familiar surroundings of the Westfalenstadion.
