Manchester City will win at Anfield on Sunday and go 16 points clear of Liverpool … thus  ending Jurgen Klopp’s title hopes.

That’s the confident prediction of Paul Robinson, the former England ‘keeper who was also between the sticks in his distinguished career at Leeds and Spurs.

And he told the Betfred Football Show he thinks there will be plenty of goals in the match of the weekend, reckoning it will be 4-2 for the Erling Haaland-inspired Blues.

He believes Klopp is still trying to find a formula but as against Rangers when Liverpool won 7-1 in the Champions League, using hat-trick hero Mo Salah more centrally is a winner.

Robinson said : “Liverpool have problems defensively. If they don’t kick on from winning 7-1 then they do have an issue.” He feels if they don’t win on Sunday, Liverpool will be cast adrift and won’t be able to catch City, who he feels won’t be beaten all season.

Leaders Arsenal will also win at Leeds, according to Robinson, with his former club falling to a 1-2 scoreline also on Sunday.

He said: “Leeds’ first aim this season is to stay in the Premier League, but they have to show more progression. Arsenal are rightly getting a lot of plaudits and I would be surprised if Ben White doesn’t get in the England squad.”

In the Saturday matches Robinson predicts a 2-0 win for Crystal Palace at lowly Leicester, Bournemouth and Fulham to draw two-each … and Wolves and Nottingham Forest to play out a cagey no-score draw.

He believes Spurs will beat Everton 2-0, Manchester United and Newcastle to draw 2-2 – and West Ham to chalk up a 2-1 away win against Southampton.
