The Europa League takes centre stage on Thursday as the tournament heads into matchday three and there is a huge Group C clash taking place at the Stadio Olimpico, with Roma hosting Real Betis. We’ve perused the markets and picked out two selections that we feel could land in Italy.

Roma vs Real Betis Tips

#PickYourPunt: Roma to win, both teams to score and Andrea Belotti to score anytime (90mins) – 7/2

Borja Iglesias to score anytime – 2/1

I fancied Roma to win the Europa League pre-tournament and even though they have won one and lost one of their two group games so far, I still think they look good value at 14/1 to go all the way.

Jose Mourinho is a master when it comes to winning trophies, as shown last season when he guided the Giallorossi to Europa Conference League glory, and their performances this term suggest more silverware could be added to his collection.

Roma are only four points off the top in Serie A, having started with a win-draw-loss record of 5-1-2, and they will be full of confidence heading into Thursday’s encounter against Betis after coming from behind to win 2-1 at Inter Milan last time out.

Betis boast a 100 per cent Europa League record to sit top of Group C, but this trip to Rome is a real step up for them and a first defeat could be coming their way.

Team news:

Dutch pair Georginio Wijnaldum and Rick Karsdorp remain long-term absentees for Roma, while captain Lorenzo Pellegrini is likely to be missing after battling through the Inter clash with an ongoing muscular problem.

Betis are missing forward Juanmi, who has been ruled out until after the World Cup in Qatar due to an ankle injury, but Nabil Fekir made his return as a substitute last time out and is contention for a place in the starting XI.

#PickYourPunt: Roma to win, both teams to score and Andrea Belotti to score anytime (90mins) – 7/2

I have delved into Betfred’s #PickYourPunt market for my first tip, which comes in at a tempting 7/2, with Roma to win, both teams to score and Andrea Belotti to score anytime making up the selection.

Mourinho’s side have won three of their last four matches across all competitions and they are unbeaten in their last 13 home Europa League encounters – a run that stretches back to March 2017.

Roma have only failed to score once in their last five outings, so they have no issues in the final third, but they are susceptible at the back and have recorded just one clean sheet from the last six matches.

Betis have also thrived in the goals department, netting five times across their two Europa League games, but they have been inconsistent on the road and have lost two of their four away assignments this season. While I fancy them to get on the scoresheet, coming away with a positive result looks difficult.

Rounding off the selection is Belotti to score anytime. The 28-year-old has added more firepower to Roma since joining in the summer and he is expected to be handed a start on Thursday as Mourinho tinkers with his line-up.

The Italy international opened his account in the 3-0 victory over HJK in matchday two and he will be eager to add to that tally.

Borja Iglesias to score anytime – 2/1

As stated in my first tip, I fancy Betis to get on the scoresheet and there doesn’t look to be a more likely candidate to do this than Borja Iglesias, who has scored six La Liga goals so far this term and leads his club’s scoring charts.

The 29-year-old is yet to feature in the Europa League this season, but with Thursday’s encounter giving his side the chance to put themselves even further clear at the top of Group C, he could be handed a chance to open his European account.
