There is plenty of football for us to get our teeth stuck into on Wednesday evening. We’ve asked Adam Roberts to pick out a tasty looking treble and he’s got full justification for each bet also.
Football Acca Tips
- Phil Foden to score anytime – 5/4
- Kylian Mbappe to score anytime – 19/20
- Christopher Nkunku to score anytime – 6/5
Phil Foden to score anytime – 5/4
Many neutral observers wondered how the addition of Erling Haaland would affect the other attacking players in Manchester City’s star-studded line up. Would they be stifled and marginalised in an all-consuming effort to feed the goal-hungry Norwegian? Well it’s anything of the sort where Phil Foden is concerned.
The 22-year-old has flourished alongside Haaland and netted his first professional hat-trick in Sunday’s Manchester Derby. Foden already has five for the season, as well another in the Champions League and is well on the way to beating his best ever Premier League return. Copenhagen shouldn’t put up much resistance to the Man City juggernaut on Wednesday and I think we’ll see Foden’s name on the scoresheet again.
Kylian Mbappe to score anytime – 19/20
Another of the young stars of world football, Kylian Mbappe has been a regular feature of our Champions League match days for a number of years now and he just seems to be getting better year on year. The 23-year-old is averaging over a goal a game this year in all competitions and has 213 goals in 299 games across his career.
PSG have a tough game here against an in-form Benfica but don’t be surprised to Mbappe bag again.
Christopher Nkunku to score anytime – 6/5
I round off my treble with another of Europe’s starlets, Christopher Nkunku. The 24-year-old Frenchman really burst into the footballing world’s consciousness last year, winning the Bundesliga Player of the Year award after 33 goal contributions in 34 games.
He also netted 11 goals in 12 European games last season and clearly loves it on the big stage. Leipzig are at home to Celtic and Nkunku should have plenty of opportunities to score here.
The treble pays just under 9/1 for all three players to score.
