Real Madrid are heavy favourite to beat Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday night coming in at just 2/11. Therefore we’ve taken a look at the #PickYourPunt feature on Betfred and come up with a 22/1 treble for the game…

Real Madrid vs Shakhtar Donetsk Tips

Anatolii Trubin to be carded

Real Madrid under 6.5 corners

Vinicius to score anytime

We’ll start with the riskiest and biggest price of the threefold and that is the Ukrainian goalkeeper to be carded. The 21 year-old has seen yellow twice already this season in just seven games. For a goalkeeper that is a high number and with the potential for time wasting extremely high – even early in the game – then the 13/2 price isn’t the worst I’ve ever seen. Ivan Kruzliak tends to flash his cards more than most, averaging 3.4 cards a game. That includes showing five in his only Champions League outing so far this campaign.

Surprisingly Carlo Ancelotti’s side aren’t prolific when it comes to earning corner kicks. You would imagine with their array of attacking talent that they would earn far more than they actually do. In both their previous games in this competition so far this term, they’ve only secured three corners and given away five. It isn’t as though RB Leipzig and Celtic are outstanding sides either. I’ve decided not to go crazy but even if they double their corners compared to those two games, they won’t clear the 6.5 mark.

Champions League Betting Odds

Lastly (and probably the safest section of this threefold) is young Vinicius to score anytime. The 22 year-old has found the back of the net six times already this season and started the campaign with a five-game scoring streak. He hasn’t scored in either of their Champions League contests so far but did score in both the first leg of the semi-final last year and the only goal in the final itself. If Real are going to put two or three past Shakhtar – which is what most people think – then it seems awfully likely that he’ll get at least one of them.

At 22/1 it comes in as an implied probability of 4.3% and I really do like the Vinicius and corner legs. The Trubin booking is the tougher leg to come in but if you like playing longshots then this should pique your interest.

If you are a punter who likes to just bet on the Match Result market then the home side are 2/11 with the draw 6/1 and the away win at 14s. Anything other than a home win would be a real shock but as a single, the away win at 14s isn’t the worst price considering we’ve seen in the not so distant past Real go down at home against inferior opposition.
