Erling Haaland is the big problem United must overcome if they are to get anything in the Manchester Derby on Sunday.

That’s the view of former United and England defender Paul Parker, who told The Betfred Football Show that the Norwegian is already the best striker in the Premier League even though he’s only been here “two minutes”.

Parker said: “someone that big, who can run that fast, is always going to be a big problem.”

The 58-year-old said that United need to “put in a performance” at the Etihad on Sunday, and that he hopes Erik ten Hag sticks with the same back-four that helped the Reds win four games on the bounce before the international break.

With Haaland looking to make it three consecutive Premier League hat-tricks, Parker wants the United defence to show “a bit of guile” to nullify the in-form striker’s impact.

Parker predicts a 2-1 win for the Blues – and in the other derby 24 hours earlier, which he described as a “benchmark” for both teams, he reckons Arsenal will triumph 3-1 over North London rivals Tottenham.

He referred to another top striker, Gabriel Jesus, as being key to the Gunners’ excellent form that’s seen them top the Premier League table.

Regarding the other games this weekend, Parker suggests a 2-0 win for Brentford at Bournemouth – while he reckons Everton will triumph 1-0 at Southampton.

Parker thinks Graham Potter will come unstuck in his first league game in charge of Chelsea and lose 2-1 to Palace, and that Fulham will beat Newcastle 3-1 at Craven Cottage.

Parker added that he thinks Liverpool will beat Brighton 2-0 at Anfield, and that West Ham will draw 1-1 when they entertain Wolves.

Finally, on Sunday after the Manchester Derby, he reckons Leeds will beat Aston Villa 2-0 at Elland Road and that Leicester will get three points for the first time this season when they beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 at home.
