Arsenal (10/1 Premier League outright) got back to winning ways as they cruised past Brentford 3-0 to go back to the summit of the Premier League table.

Mikel Arteta’s side lost two weeks ago at Manchester United as their 100% start to the new season was ended at the hands of the Red Devils.

Despite arriving into the game with injury problems including to captain Martin Odegaard and left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko, the Gunners proved far too strong for Brentford.

William Saliba headed Arsenal in front with the goal being awarded via goal-line technology before Gabriel Jesus doubled their advantage with a header himself from Granit Xhaka’s delicately chipped cross.

Four minutes into the second half, Fabio Vieira marked his first start for Arsenal with a terrific goal as he fired in off the post from the edge of the area to effectively seal the points.

With the match heading into its final stages, Arsenal gave a debut to 15-year-old midfielder Ethan Nwaneri who became the youngest ever Premier League player.

Nwaneri, who was born in March 2007, broke the record set by Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott when he was at Fulham.

It capped off a fine day as Arsenal sit top, a point clear of second-placed Manchester City (3/10 Premier League outright) and Tottenham (10/1) in third.

Meanwhile, Everton won their first Premier League game of the season after narrowly defeating West Ham 1-0 as David Moyes’ men continued their slow start to the campaign.

Following a goalless first half, Neal Maupay broke the deadlock shortly after the restart with a stunning finish on the turn.

West Ham pushed for an equaliser and came closest when Said Benrahma’s curler from the edge of the area struck the post.

However, the Toffees were able to hold on for a much-needed first win of the season which sees them go 13th in the table.

West Ham have only won once, picking up just four points from seven matches, and sit 18th.
