It is another busy day of racing action across the UK and Ireland on Friday, with meetings to get stuck into from Ayr, Newbury, Newton Abbot, Downpatrick, Kempton and Dundalk.
First up is Newbury’s eight-race card (13:07-17:05) and there is an extra place being paid out in the finale – the Dreweatts Handicap over 1m 2f – with Ralph Beckett’s Vee Sight (15/8) expected to put in a bold challenge for glory.
We head north of the border next for an eight-race affair at Ayr, the action running from 13:25 until 17:20, and there are extra places to take advantage of in the opener, 15:10, 16:20, 16:50 and the finale.
The 15:45 at the Scottish track – the Ayr Bronze Cup Handicap – is Betfred’s Super Extra Place Race and there could be some interest in last-time-out winner Grantley Hall, who is 10/1 to repeat that trick.
Newton Abbot then stages a seven-race card, running from 13:35 until 17:00, and the extra place promotion comes into effect in the 16:30 – a Handicap Chase over 3m 1f 170y.
The focus then turns to the first of two Irish meetings, a seven-race card at Downpatrick that begins with the 13:50 and concludes with the 17:15. Extra places are being paid out in the 14:25 and the 15:00.
Friday’s penultimate meeting is an eight-race card from Kempton (16:40-20:15) and there are extra places to utilise in the 17:45, 19:45 and the finale, which Showman (4/1) and Arab Cinder (4/1) are fancied to run well in.
Last, but by no means least, Dundalk’s eight-race offering (16:55-20:30) brings the curtain down on a busy day of racing, with the 18:00, 18:30, 19:00, 19:30 and the finale all covered by the extra place promotion.
