Betfred have the Labour leader at 4/5 for the top job, succeeding Truss. And if Labour opts for a change in leadership, Greater Manchester’s outspoken mayor Andy Burnham has been backed in to 20/1 to be the next PM.
Ahead of Burnham, according to Betfred, are a whole bunch of Conservatives including Kemi Badenoch, Kwarsi Kwarteng – and also at 12/1 we have the now-departed Boris Johnson.
Johnson in his goodbye message spoke of his legacy after his landslide triumph in 2019, including the Government’s record on Covid vaccination, and support for Ukraine in the war against Russia.
Labour meanwhile has called on Truss to have a snap General Election – and if she did it would, predicts Betfred, be a tight affair.
We have both Labour and Conservatives at 10/11 to win the most seats, with the Liberals at 100/1. It’s also 10/11 that there would be no overall majority, with Labour 9/4 to win an overall majority, and the Tories 11/4 to do likewise.
