Manchester United completed a huge £82million deal for Ajax winger Antony on transfer deadline day while Chelsea are set to sign Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria.

On a typically busy day with the window due to close at 23:00, plenty of Premier League teams were attempting to strengthen their squads on deadline day and several deals have been completed with plenty more poised to go though.

United’s capture of Antony was confirmed early on Thursday with the Red Devils forking out an initial £82million with a potential £4.3m in add-ons making the 22-year-old the fourth most expensive signing in Premier League history.

After penning a five-year deal, Antony said: “This is an incredible moment in my career to join one of the most iconic clubs in the world.

“Playing under Erik ten Hag at Ajax was perfect for me and my development. His style of football and coaching brings out the best in me, and I am excited by what he has told me about his plans and ambitions in Manchester.”

United, who are 11/4 to finish in the top four, have been one of the busier clubs on deadline day as they have also drafted in goalkeeper Martin Dubravka on a season-long loan from Newcastle United, who will join as back-up to first-choice David de Gea at Old Trafford.

Aubameyang is set to return to the Premier League with the Blues agreeing a deal with Barcelona in the region of £10m plus Marcos Alonso for the former Arsenal forward.

Gabon international Aubameyang, who scored 92 goals for Arsenal in 163 appearances, moved to Barcelona on a free in January after falling out with Mikel Arteta.

Chelsea (EVS – Top 4 Finish) are also expected to complete a loan deal for Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria with the Switzerland international reportedly undergoing a medical in Turin ahead of the move, while Billy Gilmour is tipped to exit Stamford Bridge with a £9million switch to Brighton likely to go through.

In other confirmed deadline day deals, Manchester City have signed Switzerland defender Manuel Akanji on a five-year contract, former Arsenal and Chelsea forward Willian has signed a one-year deal with Fulham and full-back Layvin Kurzawa has joined the Cottagers on loan from PSG.

Everton have brought back former midfielder Idrissa Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain, Nottingham Forest’s busy summer has continued with the capture of Ivory Coast defender Willy Boly from Wolves and Leicester City have signed defender Wout Faes from French club Reims for an undisclosed fee.

Southampton centre-back Jack Stephens has moved to Bournemouth, another Saints defender Jan Bednarek is close to joining Aston Villa, while the West Midlands outfit are also set to sign Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker after agreeing a £13million deal.

Arsenal (9/1 Premier League Outright) have been in talks with Villa about a £25million switch for midfielder Douglas Luiz, while Liverpool are set to complete a season-long loan move for Brazil midfielder Arthur Melo from Juventus.

Leeds winger Daniel James, who was linked with Tottenham, is another player who could end up at Fulham (1/5 – To stay up) on loan, while Marseille’s Duje Caleta-Car is tipped to join Southampton for around £10million.
