Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst says his side will be focused on making a bright start and playing at the top of their game when they host PSV Eindhoven in Champions League qualifying on Tuesday night (Rangers 6/4, draw 12/5, PSV 13/8 – Match Result).

The Light Blues are two games away from reaching the coveted Champions League group stages and welcome the Dutch outfit PSV to Ibrox for the first leg.

Rangers have made a positive start to their Scottish Premiership season with three wins from three but will face their biggest test of the campaign so far against free-scoring PSV.

Managed by former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, PSV earned a 5-3 Dutch Super Cup win over league champions Ajax, before beating Emmen 4-1 and Go Ahead Eagles 5-2 in the Eredivisie.

Van Bronckhorst knows the size of the challenge ahead and is eager to see his side come out of the blocks quickly in Glasgow.

“The most important thing is how we start the game and how we want to play,” said Van Bronckhorst. “We have to be in very good condition and we have to be on top of our game.”

The Dutch tactician added: “We’ve seen a lot of games from them this season. There’s a clear way of playing, they’re comfortable on the ball, very strong in transition moments to attack.

“It’s the last step into the group stages so it’s normal you’re going to face a very difficult opponent.”

Rangers have been boosted by the returns of Ryan Kent (9/2 Anytime Goalscorer) and James Sands after the pair missed Saturday’s 4-0 win over St Johnstone.

Both players started the 3-0 win over Union Saint Gilloise in the last round of qualifying and are expected to feature in this highly-anticipated first-leg encounter in front of a packed house at Ibrox.
