The opening round of fixtures for the new La Liga and Serie A seasons will reach a conclusion on Monday, with Atletico Madrid and Juventus among the teams in action.

There are three fixtures to take in from the Spanish top flight, including Atleti’s trip to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez to face Madrid rivals Getafe (Match Betting – Getafe 18/5, Draw 2/1, Atletico Madrid 10/11).

Diego Simeone’s (pictured) side finished third in La Liga last season, some 15 points behind champions and bitter rivals Real Madrid, but they have bolstered their squad over the summer with the arrival of players such as Axel Witsel from Borussia Dortmund, while forward Alvaro Morata has returned to the club following two years on loan at Juventus.

Real Betis are another side with lofty ambitions this season after they narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification last term.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side also lifted the Copa del Rey in 2021-22 and they will open their campaign this term by welcoming Elche to the Estadio Benito Villamarin (Real Betis 9/20, Draw 16/5, Elche 11/2 – Match Betting).

Monday’s other match in La Liga will see Athletic Bilbao begin life under returning head coach Ernesto Valverde with a home clash against Real Mallorca (Athletic Bilbao 4/7, Draw 13/5, Mallorca 5/1 – Match Betting).

Former Barcelona boss Valverde is back in charge of Bilbao for a third spell having previously led the club between 2003-2005 and 2013-2017.

There are also two matches from Serie A to take in, with new-look Juventus set to entertain Sassuolo in the later kick-off (Juventus 1/2, Draw 16/5, Sassuolo 5/1 – Match Betting).

Having missed out on the Scudetto in each of the last two seasons. Juve have added to their squad with the signings of, among others, Angel Di María, Filip Kostic and Paul Pogba, although the latter will miss the start of the campaign with a knee injury.

Like Juve, Napoli will also be aiming to challenge for the title this season in Italy. Luciano Spalletti’s side will open their campaign with a tricky looking trip to Hellas Verona (Match Betting – Verona 12/5, Draw 12/5, Napoli 21/20).
