World number 98 J.J. Spaun (5/1 Outright Winner) will take a one-shot lead heading into the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship after carding a two-under-par round of 68 on Saturday.

The American, who broke his PGA Tour duck at the Valero Texas Open in April, was level-par through 16 holes of his third round before finishing with back-to-back birdies.

Making those late gains ensured he would remain top of the leaderboard by one stroke on -13 heading into Sunday, but he will have to be at his best to clinch the victory with several high-profile stars chasing him down.

Austrian Sepp Straka is the closest challenger on -12 and he is 9/1 to clinch his second title on the US circuit, having claimed his maiden victory at The Honda Classic in February.

Open champion Cameron Smith (7/2 Fav), who continues to be linked with a move to LIV Golf, is a further shot in arrears on -11 after signing for a three-under-par 67 on Saturday.

The Australian is joined on that mark by the US pair of Will Zalatoris (9/2) and Trey Mullinax, while Tyler Duncan and Troy Merritt are both on -10 – three off the pace.

Reigning US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick (12/1) and South Korea’s Sungjae Im (22/1) are part of a large group of nine players that are a further stroke back on -9.

American Tony Finau, who is aiming to win his third straight tournament after victories at the 3M Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic, is part of that cluster and he is 16/1 to triumph on Sunday.

At the end of the tournament, the top 70 players in the FedEx Cup standings will advance to the BMW Championship at Wilmington Country Club next week.
