Sungjae Im (9/4 Fav – Outright Winner) and Brandon Wu are tied for the lead at the Wyndham Championship heading into Sunday, although there are still 74 players still to complete the third round after play was suspended twice on Saturday due to bad weather.
It was a disrupted round on Saturday as inclement weather forced the field off twice at Sedgefield Country Club, the first coming at 12:20pm USA Eastern Time and the second at 4:15pm.
By the time play was stopped for the day, there were still 74 players still to complete the third round and they will be heading back to the course on Sunday at 12:30 UK time to recommence.
In a bid to get the tournament completed on Sunday, threesomes will go off split tees, beginning at around 3:15pm UK time, and it promises to be an entertaining and action-packed finish.
South Korean Im and American rookie Wu are out in front on -12, one shot clear of John Huh and Joohyung Kim, with the leading pair having both played 11 holes of their third rounds.
Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat did manage to complete his third round, as he signed for a fantastic seven-under-par 63 to move into a tie for fifth on -10 and sit just two strokes off the leaders.
Brian Stuard (33/1), Anirban Lahiri (16/1), Davis Riley (9/1), Russell Henley (15/2) and Ryan Moore (22/1) are also sitting on -10, although that quintet all have to return early on Sunday to finish off round three.
