Another televised debate TONIGHT as the battle for the keys to Number Ten intensifies
Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss appear before the nation once again tonight as the Conservative Party leadership battle continues.
Sky News will host the latest ding-dong. Both candidates are looking to secure support from amongst the party membership, the group who will ultimately decide who will become Party leader, and of course therefore our next Prime Minister.
Despite a wee media hiccup over recent days, with the Truss camp involved in some back and forth about the need to consider regional pay boards (or not, as it turned out), the Foreign Secretary is steaming ahead in the betting. It’s now 1/14 Truss, and 8/1 Sunak.
The former Chancellor appears to need a big lift from somewhere if those odds are to be defied.
Just a reminder – the deadline for the ballots to be returned is Sept 2nd, and an announcement about the new Party leader and Prime Minister is expected on Sept 5th.
