Rafael Nadal (5/1 Wimbledon outright) will look to keep his hopes of a 2022 Grand Slam clean sweep alive when he faces Taylor Fritz on Centre Court in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.
Having secured the titles at both the Australian Open and French Open, Nadal is still on course for a clean sweep of the major titles this year.
The Spaniard overcame Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp in the last round and now faces the American Taylor Fritz, who himself beat Australia’s Jason Kubler last time out (Fritz 9/4, Nadal 1/3 – Match Result).
Wednesday will also see Nick Kyrgios continue his bid to secure a first Wimbledon title when the Australian goes up against Christian Garin (Garin 3/1, Kyrgios 2/9 – Match Result).
Kyrgios battled past Stefanos Tsitsipas in their fiery encounter in the third round, and will now look to negotiate his way past the Chilean Garin having since needed five sets to down American Brandon Nakashima in the last-16.
In the women’s competition, Ons Jabeur and Tatjana Maria have already booked their places in the semi-finals.
Ajla Tomljanovic and Elena Rybakina will compete for a last-four spot as they meet in the first of Wednesday’s two women’s quarter-finals (Tomljanovic 13/8, Rybakina 1/2 – Match Result).
Meanwhile, Simona Halep continues her search for a second Wimbledon title as the Romanian prepares for another battle with the American Amanda Anisimova (Halep 4/11, Anisimova 2/1 – Match Result).
Halep should be confident going into this quarter-final after she secured a 6-2 6-1 on the grass of Bad Homburg last month in the last meeting between these two players.
