If we feel there’s something of note happening during the day – ‘we’ being the Betfred columnists at HQ – then henceforth we’ll be flagging it up accordingly.

Reckon you can never have enough opinions and advice from which to make sound judgements of your own, so we’ll be chipping in on a fairly regular basis in a bid to add to the fun for us, and far more importantly, you.

Today we’re looking at the horses again, and I’ve got a strong fancy in the 3.00 at Wolverhampton – Zenga at 5/4 for the bang in-form Roger Varian.

Not only is this three-year-old daughter of Lope De Vega trained by someone operating an incredibly impressive 37% strike rate (15 wins in 41 runs in the last 14 days), she has a lovely improving profile after promising runs in decent novice company at Newbury and Goodwood so far this season.

I think she’ll improve again today, up in trip to just over 1m1f, against rivals with plenty of question marks.

The selection’s main market rival Suspicious has to overcome a 325-day lay-off carrying a 7lb penalty, Malakahna is a two-mile hurdler also carrying plenty of weight, while the other two with form have plenty to find – and the lone newbie of the field cost just 1,500 Euros and is 66/1 for a reason.

I’ll be really disappointed – and I’m sure Roger Varian will be too – if Zenga can’t get her head in front this afternoon.
