Rafael Nadal returns to action at Wimbledon on Monday as the Spaniard looks to continue his charge towards a third Grand Slam crown of 2022 and his third at SW19 (Nadal – 9/2 outright).
Nadal is looking to seal his spot in the quarter-finals at the grass Grand Slam and he will be confident ahead of his showdown with Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp.
The Dutchman is making just his second appearance at Wimbledon, having exited in the second round in 2021, and he’s never gone beyond the quarter-finals at a Grand Slam.
The pair have only met once but it proved to be a routine win for the Spaniard on his favoured clay surface when he eased to a straight-sets win at this year’s French Open.
Meanwhile, Nick Kyrgios is back on court after his dramatic and controversial victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas on Saturday.
Kyrgios takes on American Brandon Nakashima as he looks to reach the last-eight for just the second time in his career.
Victory for Kyrgios will see him take on either countryman Alex De Minaur or Cristian Garin in the quarter-finals.
In the women’s draw, former world number one and 2019 Wimbledon champion Simona Halep takes on Paula Badosa.
Meanwhile, France’s Alize Cornet, who ended Iga Swiatek’s 37-match winning streak, is set to face Ajla Tomljanovic.
