The 2022 Wimbledon Championships get under way on Monday and there is plenty of home interest, with Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray among nine British players set to be in first-round action.

US Open champion Raducanu broke on to the scene at the All England Club last year, making it all the way through to the fourth round, but she will be on Centre Court for the first time on Monday when she takes on Belgium’s Alison van Uytvanck (Match Result – Van Uytvanck 4/7, Raducanu 11/8).

Raducanu has been struggling with a side injury in the build-up to the tournament, but she has now confirmed she is “ready to go”.

It is a similar story for two-time Wimbledon champion Murray, who will be on Centre Court following the conclusion of Raducanu’s match, as he has been struggling with an abdominal injury he picked up during his loss to Matteo Berrettini in the final of the Stuttgart Open earlier this month.

Murray says he feels in a “good place” despite those fitness concerns, with the 35-year-old set to face Australia’s James Duckworth in the first round (Murray 1/6, Duckworth 4/1 – Match Result).

There are seven other Brits scheduled to be in first-round action on the opening day of the championships, including ninth seed Cameron Norrie, who will open proceedings on Court Two against Spain’s Pablo Andujar (Norrie 1/50, Andujar 14/1 – Match Result).

Heather Watson, Ryan Peniston, Lily Miyazaki, Jodie Burrage, Jay Clarke and Katie Swan are the other Brits set to be in action.

Defending men’s champion Novak Djokovic will get things under way on Centre Court against Kwon Soon-woo of South Korea (Djokovic 1/200, Kwon 25/1 – Match Result), while women’s third seed Ons Jabeur opens proceedings on Court One when she takes on Swedish qualifier Mirjam Bjorklund (Match Result – Bjorklund 10/1, Jabeur 1/33).

Following that match, Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz will face Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff (Match Result – Struff 11/4, Alcaraz 1/4), before 2018 champion Angelique Kerber gets her campaign started against two-time Grand Slam quarter-finalist Kristina Mladenovic (Kerber 1/10, Mladenovic 11/2 – Match Result).
