There are five UK meetings for punters to peruse on Thursday, with action from Newcastle, Nottingham, Newmarket, Leicester and Hamilton, all of which are seven race cards.

First to Newcastle, where they go from 13:00 to 16:30 and their card contains three editions of Betfred’s Extra Place race promotion.

The 14:10, 15:20 and 16:30 are all included and in the closer, it is hard to look past 11/4 favourite Ey Up Its The Boss, with Tony Coyle’s charge well placed for a four-timer despite going up 6lb for his recent five-length win at Redcar.

Nottingham is next between 13:10 and 16:40 and Betfred have included their Super Extra Place offer on this card, with them paying two places on what is only a four-runner field at 13:45.

A handicap winner at Windsor last month, Aphelios is the 11/8 favourite to take the honours for the Charlton team.

The final afternoon card comes from Newmarket and runs between 13:25 and 16:55. The 14:35, 16:20 and 16:55 all carry the Extra Place offer and across those, it is perhaps Roxhoff who attracts the most attention in the penultimate race.

Charlie Hills’ gelding has been in the top two in his last seven outings and is 9/4 to record a fifth career win.

Into the evening and the first of two meetings takes place at Leicester. They first go off at 17:15 and conclude three hours later, with the Extra Place on both the 17:45 and 18:15.

Betfred’s Free Bet if 2nd promotion is also on the agenda here on the 19:45 where 9/2 Shahnaz and 15/2 Days Like This are both likely to contend, having each won when last seen.

Finally to Hamilton’s offering between 18:00 and 21:00 where the Free Bet if 2nd offer this time finds itself on the 19:00.

After winning this race last year, trainer Iain Jardine knows what it takes to get the job done so it might be worth looking at his 5/1 chance, The Gloaming.
