Gemma Owen, daughter of former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker Michael, is favourite at Betfred to be the top female on this year’s Love Island.
The 19-year-old – a business owner and international dressage rider – is 9/4 to be the best performing lady, while Liam Llewellyn – a 22-year-old post-graduate from Wales who “thought Elton John was two blokes for 20 years” – is favourite amongst the boys at 3/1.
Unsurprisingly then, the pair are 10/1 favourites to be the winning couple – although we of course won’t know our starting couples until after Monday night’s opening episode, which starts at 9pm on ITV2.
Also heading into the villa this year and right up there in the betting is Tasha Gouri (3/1 to be Top Female), a 23-year-old model and dancer from Yorkshire who was born completely deaf but has lived with a cochlear implant since the age of five.
She’s 16/1 to be part of the winning couple with Luca Bish (7/2 to be Top Male), a 23-year-old fishmonger who… hates fish. We’re putting it out there now – these two seem very likeable, and we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them gravitate to each other early doors. Worth a little punt, maybe?
Next at 4/1 and 5/1 respectively we have Paige Thorne – a 24-year-old paramedic from Swansea who “loves love” – and Indiyah Polack – a 23-year-old hotel waitress and self-proclaimed “female player” – to finish best of their sex.
Just behind them at 6/1 to be Top Male is “Italian Stallion”, otherwise known as “Greek God”, or Davide Sanclimenti. This 27-year-old is seemingly pretty fond of himself, and may well ruffle a few feathers in the villa.
Dubai-based real estate agent Andrew Page, 27, and Irishman Dami Hope, 26, who reckons he has a 99.9% strike rate with the ladies with the – and I quote – “0.9%” being those already in a relationship, are both 7/1 at Betfred to be the last boy standing.
Finally, at 8/1 the pair, is 23-year-old pharmaceutical sales specialist Ikenna Ekwonna and 24-year-old London nanny Amber Beckford.
So, there’s your line-up, and the odds. I’m sure the picture will look dramatically different by tomorrow, when we’ve learned a bit more about our islanders and the first coupling. We’ll no doubt be with you along the way, keeping up with all the changes in the betting. Stay tuned!
