It’s a busy day of racing action on Monday, with no fewer than six meetings across the UK and Ireland – four afternoon and two evening cards.
The opening contest of the day is due off at 13:00 in what is the first of seven races on the turf at Southwell, where the going is Good, Good to soft in places for their jumps card.
Betfred are paying an extra place in the 15:20 race, where seven runners are set to go to post for the 2m 4f Mares Handicap Hurdle.
Next on the agenda is an all-weather meeting at Lingfield, with the seven-race card due to start at 13:18 and conclude with the lucky last at 16:48.
There is a five-runner field for the 15:38 race, which is a Class 4 Handicap contest over 6f. Lilkian (7/2) is certainly one to consider, with Darryll Holland’s charge having won here in impress style just 13 days ago.
The first of the two Irish meetings starts at 13:45, with a seven-race flat card at Gowran Park – where the going is described as Yielding, Yielding to soft in places.
Their biggest field of the day is at 16:40, where 16 runners are expected to go to post for 1m 1½ f Handicap, with Bay Of Bengal currently 4/1 and Betfred will pay five places in this contest.
There are also seven races at Listowel for their jumps meeting, where the going is Soft, Soft to heavy in places, with the opener due off at 14:00.
The two evening cards take place at Windsor and Pontefract, with Windsor kicking things off at 17:05 as part of a seven-race meeting, with the going now Soft, Heavy in places.
Windsor’s biggest race of the night takes place at 18:45 – the Fitzdares Sprint Series Handicap, which is a 5f sprint.
Spoof (4/1) is a course-and-distance winner and the Charlie Hills runner returns to the track off a handy mark and should have a big say in this contest.
Meanwhile, the going is described as Good to Firm, Good in places for the seven-race card at Pontefract – which starts at 18:00.
