Rangers won’t let fear be an issue when they take the field against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League final, according to winger Ryan Kent (Eintracht Frankfurt 5/4, draw 9/4, Rangers 2/1 – Match Betting).
The Light Blues have been on a remarkable journey in Europe this season, firstly under manager Steven Gerrard, before Giovanni van Bronckhorst took the Ibrox reins in November.
Rangers shocked former tournament favourites Borussia Dortmund over two legs, before overcoming Red Star Belgrade in the quarters and RB Leipzig in the semis.
Gers (6/5 to lift the trophy) can now look forward to a trip to Seville on May 18 to face yet more German opposition in the form of Frankfurt and Kent doesn’t feel Rangers will go into the game with any reservations.
“Without a doubt it’s the biggest game of our careers, but I don’t think we’ll let the occasion get the better of us,” Kent said.
“We’ll go into the game with the same mindset as we’ve had throughout the competition. We’ve come up against some top-class opposition and nothing changes going into the final.
“Without being naïve we are going in there to win, that’s for sure.”
Having made the switch from Liverpool to Glasgow in 2018, initially on loan before signing permanently, Kent has been a revelation since his move to Ibrox.
With a European final on the horizon, the 25-year-old feels this showpiece game is something he has been working towards throughout his career so far.
“That journey has been a beautiful struggle, each year we’ve wanted to progress further than the previous year and we’ve managed to do that getting to the final,” he added.
“On a personal level it’s something I’ve always strived for in my career, to try and get to the top of European football, and it’s an opportunity I’ll be relishing.”
