It’s day two of the Cheltenham Festival on Wednesday 16th March and there is another fantastic seven-race card to get stuck into, while there is also action from Huntingdon, Newcastle and Kempton.
Before the attention turns to Prestbury Park for day two of the Festival, the first meeting of the day comes from Huntingdon and there are seven races running from 13:15 until 17:05, with an extra place being paid out in the 14:30.
It’s off to Cheltenham next for another rip-roaring day of action and there are, once again, seven races to take in. The opener, which is covered by Betfred’s Free Bet if 2nd’ promotion, is scheduled for 13:30 and the finale is set for 17:30.
There are no less than four Super Extra Place Races on the card, these being the 14:10, 14:50, 16:10 and 16:50, while the feature race is the Queen Mother Champion Chase at 15:30.
Nicky Henderson’s Shishkin (5/6) looks to be the one to beat in the Champion Chase after some sparkling performances, although there is expected to be stiff competition from the other seven runners.
Cheltenham Festival Betting Odds
Energumene and Chacun Pour Soi, both for trainer Willie Mullins, are priced at 10/3 and 13/2 respectively, while Rachael Blackmore and Envoi Allen are available at 16/1 to triumph.
Nube Negra (16/1), Put The Kettle On (28/1), Funambule Sivola (33/1) and Politologue (80/1) make up the field.
Attention then turns to Newcastle’s six-race card, which goes from 17:14 until 19:45, and there are extra places to make the most of in the 17:45 and the 18:15.
Last, but by no means least, the action is brought to a close with Kempton’s six-race card (18:00-20:30) and there is an extra place being paid out in the finale.
