Kell Brook has predicted his upcoming showdown with long-time foe Amir Khan will have “everything you want to see in a boxing match” (Brook 4/7, Khan 6/4, draw 20/1).

The two Britons will finally square off in Manchester on February 19 as they get the chance to settle their long-running rivalry.

Brook says he has been working hard in his pre-fight training camp in Fuerteventura for the past month and he expects an explosive bout against the former unified light-welterweight world champion.

He said in quotes carried by Sky Sports: “I think there’s going to be fireworks and as soon as that bell rings, I’m going to be marching out and I’m coming straight for him.

“He’s going to want to do the same and there’s going to be speed, there’s going to be power and there’s going to be everything you want to see in a boxing match in this fight.”

Brook also revealed there is a rematch clause inserted into the contract, but he confidently suggested Khan may not want to activate it after the first fight.

He added: “I believe there is a rematch clause and I’m not sure that he’ll want to take that rematch clause or not with what I want to do to him in this fight.”

Khan v Brook Odds

However, despite being predictably bullish about his chances against Khan, the 35-year-old former IBF welterweight champion admitted he will have to be in top shape to get the better of his opponent in the eagerly-awaited contest.

He said: “I’m experienced, I know what to expect in training, so I’ve seen my body take shape and improve. He has got really fast hands and I’m expecting those fast hands on fight night.

“I’m preparing myself for the best Amir Khan possible and if you’d seen what I’m putting myself through in the training camp, you’d have nightmares!”

Brook is 18/5 to win the fight on points, while Khan is 3/1 to triumph by the same outcome.
