The festive racing may be finished but the action continues to come thick and fast across the UK on Tuesday, with meetings to look forward to from Lingfield, Hereford and Newcastle.

We head to Surrey first for a seven-race card at Lingfield, the action going from 12:30 until 15:40, and Betfred’s ‘Free Bet if 2nd’ offer comes into effect in the 13:30 – a Handicap over 1m 7f 169y.

Metal Man, for trainer Rebecca Menzies, is the early 3/1 favourite to claim the spoils after some promising recent form, although stiff competition could come from the likes of 4/1 Leroy Brown and 10/1 Celtic Classic.

Next up is another seven-race card at Hereford, running from 12:45 until 15:50, and there are extra places being paid out in the opener, the 13:45, the 14:15 and the 14:50.

The first race at 12:45 – the Watch Off The Fence On Conditional Jockeys’ Novices’ Handicap Hurdle – looks to be an intriguing battle and the Nicky Henderson-trained Brilliant Present currently leads the betting at 3/1.

Legal Rights, for Gary Moore, was a winner last time out and is expected to put in another strong challenge for glory at 10/3, while the likes of Jaytee (5/1) and Merry Mistress (7/1) will be hoping to have a major say.

Last, but by no means least, the final meeting of the day is an eight-race offering from Newcastle, which gets underway with the 15:00 and concludes with the 18:30.

Extra places are being paid out in the opener and the 15:30, while the ‘Free Bet if 2nd’ offer covers the 17:30, which the Nigel Tinkler-trained Bakr is the 7/4 favourite to win.
