Monday is a relatively quiet day on the US racing front but there are still three strong cards to look forward to for thoroughbred fans.

Mahoning Valley gets things going at 17:45, with the eight-race card in Ohio running through until 21:02.

It may be worth noting 11/2 Hidden Pride in Race 5, an Allowance, at 19:36 after scoring at this track on his last appearance.

That win came with plenty to spare and he looks a horse in the ascendancy, having also finished second here on his penultimate outing.

There’s also action at New Mexico’s Zia Park, with them going off 10 times between 19:40 and 23:03.

Race 4 at 20:21 looks set to be a competitive affair, with no fewer than eight last time out winners lining up in this Allowance.

However, it is two of those who didn’t get the nod, 9/4 Classy Moon and 4/1 Rz Richy who lead the market, but experience could count for 7/1 Makin A Candy Run.

Jaime Aldavaz’s two-year-old cruised home in winning his maiden at this track in October and more is expected from him after a 57-day break.

Finally, to Arizona’s Turf Paradise, which presents eight contests from 19:40 to 23:12, and the closer could well fall to the experienced Black Ops.

The eight-year-old gelding’s results have been a mixed bag in recent times, but the majority of those outings have come in a higher grade than this Allowance.

A recent move to Justin Evans’ yard may be what is required to help him return to previous form and at 9/4, Karlo Lopez could well guide him home.
