Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel believes West Ham (Match Betting – West Ham 19/5, Draw 13/5, Chelsea 4/5) will pose a big challenge on Saturday and says they deserve to be in the mix for a top four place.
The Blues head to East London on Saturday lunchtime top of the table after a hard-fought win against Watford on Wednesday.
Mason Mount’s opener was cancelled out by a strike from Emmanuel Dennis just before half time.
However, it was Hakim Ziyech who grabbed the winner with 20 minutes to go to ensure victory for the league leaders.
Chelsea are a point ahead of Manchester City after 14 games with Liverpool (Premier League outright – City 8/11, Chelsea 11/4, Liverpool 7/2) a point further behind, as the Blues seek their first Premier League title win since Antonio Conte guided them to silverware in 2017.
The defending Champions League winners are eight matches unbeaten in the top flight since they went down 1-0 at home to Manchester City.
However, Saturday’s match will provide a stern challenge with the Hammers sitting fourth in the table.
David Moyes’ men are winless in their last three games, but Tuchel is convinced his team will face a very tricky assignment at the London Stadium.
“They almost got there last season and have been fighting the whole season for these plays,” said the German. “They show a huge solidarity, always a huge joy to watch their games.
“They did not have too many changes, play as a team and do what they do very good. They deserve to be there, they play strong in Europe, it is a tough match and a tough team to play against but it is also tough to play against us.”
At his pre-match press conference, Tuchel confirmed Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Ben Chilwell, and Trevoh Chalobah will be absent but everyone else is otherwise available.
