Peter Molony, racing manager to owner Kenny Alexander, admits the nerves are kicking in ahead of Honeysuckle’s run at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

With no less than three Grade 1 races taking place, racing enthusiasts are in for a treat at the Irish track and the action is due to get started at 12:00 and run until the finale at 15:40.

The Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at 14:40, one of the three Grade 1 races, is expected to garner much attention as Honeysuckle, for trainer Henry De Bromhead and jockey Rachael Blackmore, looks to extend her flawless record.

Boasting a perfect 12 wins from 12 starts, the seven-year-old mare, who also has a spotless six out of six at Fairyhouse, is looking to win Sunday’s race for the third year in a row.

If successful, Honeysuckle, who is the heavy 4/9 favourite to claim the spoils, will emulate Apple’s Jade, Solerina and Limestone Lad as a triple winner of the 100,000 euros feature.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s meeting, Malony said, as quoted by Racing TV: “There’s a few nerves all right.

“It’s amazing the following she has and in the week leading her up to her running, you see all the stories coming out and everybody is talking about it – the butterflies start to flutter.”

The Willie Mullins-trained Saldier is 13/2 to make it a hat-trick of wins, while the likes of 8/1 Abacadabras and 14/1 Ronald Pump will be hoping to have a say on matters.
