Soap legends Simon Gregson (9/2 at Betfred to be King of the Castle) and Adam Woodyatt (16/1) are set to join the camp in tonight’s episode of I’m A Celebrity

Simon, best known for playing the iconic Steve McDonald on Coronation Street, has been prominent in the betting from the word go, despite the fact he’s had the grand total of 0 minutes air-time so far.

He’s currently 9/2 third-favourite at Betfred, behind David Ginola – who we must say is a deserved market leader in our book after the first few episodes, at 5/2. The Saturdays star Frankie Bridge is 4/1.

It has to be said that Simon comes across very well in his VT (below), and we’ve got a sneaky feeling he may leapfrog David as the betting favourite in the next few days. Let’s see.

Betfred Special: “Street Cars” – Simon Gregson To Do An Official Trial Involving A Taxi (5/1)

Adam, who you may know better as Ian Beale in EastEnders, is lower down the betting at 16/1, behind Danny Miller (7/1) and Snoochie Shy (10/1) – the same price as both Richard Madeley and Louise Minchin.

Speaking of Richard, ITV put out a statement this morning confirming that the 65-year-old has unfortunately fallen ill in the night and been rushed to hospital. It’s unclear at this stage whether he will return, but the first priority is of course his health. Get well soon, Richard.

Back to Adam. He’s out to win the show (see VT below), despite being “about as useful as a chocolate teapot”. Brilliant.

Not to sound like a broken record, but we reckon he’ll also prove very popular with the public. 16/1? Could be big. Once again, let’s see how it goes.

Betfred Special: “I’ve Got Nothing Left” – Adam Woodyatt To Finish An Official Trial With Zero Stars (10/1)

Towards the bottom of the betting we have Naughty Boy at 25/1 and Matty Lee at 33/1. The former seems to be over his little blip (with help from his friend the robin!) where he was considering leaving the show, but it appears the public aren’t sure what to make of him just yet.

Matty seems to be suffering from something we see every year on this show, in that he’s getting very little air-time. Perhaps that might change – but it will need to, and fast.

Kadeena Cox is a 50/1 shot – while Arlene Phillips, another who has contemplated leaving the show in the first few days, remains the rank outsider at 100/1.
