Real Madrid are ready to get back on track in the Champions League when they take on Shakhtar Donetsk at 20:00 on Tuesday, according to Carlo Ancelotti (Match Betting – Shakhtar Donetsk 4/1, draw 3/1, Real Madrid 7/10).

The Spanish giants fell to a shock 2-1 defeat against Moldovan minnows Sheriff Tiraspol on matchday 2 and they sit second in Group D ahead of Tuesday’s trip to the Ukraine.

Real (22/1 Champions League Outright) were given the weekend off by La Liga due to several of their South American players returning late from international duty, therefore, they should be fully rested and ready to go on the attack.

Ancelotti has confirmed that Eden Hazard will miss the game but Ferland Mendy, Marcelo and Toni Kroos are back in training and could feature.

The Italian, who returned to take charge of Los Blancos over the summer, insists his men know the importance of picking up three points against the club currently sitting bottom of the section.

Ancelotti said: “Mendy and Marcelo have returned. Kroos has improved. The last few days of training have gone well,” said Ancelotti in his post-match press conference.

“We are motivated because it’s a very important game. We have failed in the last two. A bit of order has been lacking. But the team is prepared.”

Sheriff lead the way in Group D, having claimed six points from two outings, and they head to third-placed Inter Milan, who are yet to score a goal in the competition (Match Betting – Inter Milan 1/6, draw 7/1, Sheriff Tiraspol 16/1).

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig also square off at 20:00 (Match Betting – Paris Saint-Germain 4/7, draw 7/2, RB Leipzig 9/2) with the former sitting top of Group A, leading Club Brugge on goal difference, while Manchester City are a point further back in third and Leipzig are yet to pick up a point.

Mauricio Pochettino isn’t overlooking Leipzig, despite their struggles in Europe this term, and has warned them to remain disciplined throughout.

Pochettino said: “Both Leipzig and us need to win this match. We want the three points to stay at the top of the standings. They are a very energetic side, with many quality players, they are aggressive and they will be looking for a good result.

“It will be a very tough game and there will, no doubt, be periods when we will have to be very well organised and disciplined in defence.”

PSG (4/1 Champions League Outright) will be without Neymar for Tuesday’s engagement after Pochettino confirmed he had sustained a minor groin problem while representing Brazil during the international break.

Midfielder Leandro Paredes and defender Sergio Ramos are also set to miss out due to injury.
