US racing fans have five cards to look forward to on Tuesday, with the added bonus of a Canadian offering on the agenda from Fort Erie.

It all gets underway at Thistledown, where they go off eight times between 17:50 and 21:20. Gio Sammy’s (6/4 – Race Winner) recent results of 1225 suggests he is in good form and he is aided by a decent draw in stall one. However, last time out winner Idowhatido (11/4) may also have a say.

That Canadian card is next on the agenda with them off seven times at Fort Erie from 18:00 to 20:49.

A look down the list draws attention to Summer Retreat (9/2) in Race 2 at 18:28. Alan Bird’s five-year-old is 2122 from his last four outings, all of them at this venue, and it is surely his turn to strike again.

Back to the US, and Finger Lakes has a nine-race offering and there is likely to be interest in 8/13 Not A Trace at 20:35. The three-year-old comes into this Claiming in strong form, winning on his penultimate outing and seems to set the standard in Race 6.

New Mexico’s Zia Park hosts a monster 11 races between 19:00 and 23:30, while back east at Penn National, they have eight outings from 23:00 to 02:10.

Finally to Mountaineer where they have another octet of contests from midnight through to 02:55 and the opener, a Claiming, could well fall to Masked (SP).

A regular at this West Virginia track, he will have Yuri Yaranga on board for this run and trainer-owner Shane M. Spiess will be hoping a switch of jockey can get him back in the winner’s circle after placing on his last couple of outings.
