It’s another busy day of racing across the UK and Ireland on Saturday with no less than seven meetings taking place, including seven-race cards from both Newmarket and York.
The action begins in Northumberland with Hexham’s seven-race card, which runs from 13:00 until 16:30, and Betfred’s ‘Free Bet if 2nd’ promotion is available to utilise in the 14:45 – the Campbell & Rowley For Corporate Events Handicap Hurdle.
Limerick’s seven-race offering is next up on the agenda, the action going from 13:05 to 16:35, and there are extra places being paid out in the 14:50 and 16:00 while the ‘Free Bet if 2nd’ promotion covers the 16:35.
The focus then turns to another seven races at Newmarket (13:10-16:45) and the Group 1 Darley Dewhurst Stakes, scheduled to go off at 14:55, will see the likes of Native Trail (8/11 Fav), Bayside Boy (13/2) and Straight Answer (11/2) do battle.
Much attention will be on the 15:35, the Together For Racing International Cesarewitch Handicap over 2m 2f, and there is an extra place being paid out in this contest and the 16:10.
M C Muldoon, one of six entrants for Willie Mullins, was second on latest appearance and is 9/2 to go one better this time, although stiff competition is expected from the likes of Buzz (8/1), Calling The Wind (8/1) and Burning Victory (7/1).
Chepstow also stages a seven-race card, which runs from 13:15 until 16:40, while the second and final Irish meeting of the day is an eight-race affair from Fairyhouse (13:20-17:22).
The penultimate meeting of the day comes from York, where the first of seven races is set to go off at 13:30 before the finale at 17:00, and there are extra places being paid out in the 13:30, 14:02, 15:15 and 17:00, while the ‘Free Bet if 2nd’ promotion covers the 16:25.
The Sprint Trophy Handicap at 15:15 will garner much attention with Laugh A Minute (5/1) seemingly the one to beat, although the likes of Gulliver (10/1), Commanche Falls (10/1) and Magical Spirit (10/1) will all hope to have a major say.
Last, but by no means least, the final meeting of the day is an eight-race card from Chelmsford City (16:55-20:30) and the opener benefits from the ‘Free Bet if 2nd’ promotion, while there are extra places available in the 18:30 and 20:30.
