Sir Keir Starmer might not get his wish for Lashana Lynch is only an 8/1 shot at Betfred to be the next James Bond.

The Labour leader told ITV’s Good Morning Britain that he doesn’t have a favourite 007, but added with a smile that he does think it’s time for a female Bond.

Speculation has reached fever pitch about who will replace Daniel Craig, 53, after his final outing as the British super spy in the newly-released 25th movie ‘No Time To Die’.

Former GMB host Piers Morgan, who was amongst an army of critics of Sir Keir’s opinion, will be pleased to know he’s a 2000/1 shot at Betfred to land the role.

He’s well behind Peaky Blinders heartthrob Tom Hardy and Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page, who is a 7/2 shot – the same price as James Norton.

Next up is Lashana Lynch and Idris Elba, both at 8/1, while Poldark star Aidan Lewis is 20/1 – and Peaky Blinders’ Cillian Murphy is available at 25/1.

Betfred boss Fred Done said: “It’s always been an ambition of mine to be the new Bond!

“I guess I’m not the only one, and realistically I’d only put my chances at 2000/1 – the same as Mr Morgan.”

Whenever you bet, Betfred
