I just can’t believe that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is, according to the media at least, feeling the heat.

It really is ridiculous that there’s even talk of changing the manager at such an early stage of the season.

There should be no knee-jerk reaction, for this fella has the backing of the vast majority of the Old Trafford faithful who like me are sick to the back teeth of all the chopping and changing at the club.

Having said that, some players do need a kick up the backside after that performance against Aston Villa who were far more dangerous and fully deserved to leave with all three points.

I can’t understand why Fred gets a game, Cristiano Ronaldo hardly got a kick on Saturday and when Jadon Sancho plays much more is needed.

After three defeats in four games, Solskjaer gets the chance to turn a corner tomorrow night against Villarreal who beat us in the Europa League final in May.

Betfred are 8/15 that United win the match – and 11/4 that Ronaldo scores the opener.

The odds on the Portuguese superstar being Premier League top scorer have incidentally been slashed – he’s now 9/4 favourite as he is likely to be the United’s penalty taker following the Bruno Fernandes howler against Villa.

Meanwhile, City face the star-ridden PSG in France tonight having been backed in to EVS to retain the Premier League title following that superb win at Chelsea.

Saturday’s scorer Gabriel Jesus is 6/1 to open the scoring with us tonight, but the first goalscorer market is unsurprisingly dominated by the home team with Lionel Messi the 7/2 favourite – while Kylian Mbappe is a 4/1 shot ahead of Neymar at 9/2.

City are 7/5 at Betfred to win tonight and continue their quest to win the Champions League for the first time. The draw, which is proving popular at Betfred, is 5/2.

Finally, we’ve reached the semi-final stage in the battle for Betfred Super League Grand Final glory at Old Trafford on October 9.

Outsiders Leeds and Hull KR both beat the odds to win at Wigan and Warrington respectively and earn the right to play the top two. So it’s Catalans v Hull KR on Thursday, followed 24 hours later by holders Saints against the Rhinos.

Latest Betfred odds have Saints at 4/6 to be outright winners on October 9 with Catalans 11/4, Leeds 6/1 – while HKR have come right in from 40/1 last week to 10/1 shots.
