UK and Irish horse racing fans have four meetings to look forward to on Monday, with cards at Newton Abbot, Roscommon, Bath and Newcastle, although Hamilton has been lost to the weather.

They go off seven times at Newton Abbot between 13:00 and 16:12 and both the opener and the 14:37 carry Betfred’s Extra Place race offer.

In the 13:00, John Flint’s C&D winner Gibraltarian (13/2 – Race Winner) is fancied to benefit from a drop back in trip to 2m2f 110y after failing to fire when tried over further last month at Fontwell.

Then in the 14:37, Docpickedme has Daryl Jacob on board and is 9/4 to back up his hurdles win on his last start at Southwell in March, with him expected to thrive in handicap company.

Hamilton’s eight races had been planned to run from 13:10 to 16:50, but heavy rain led to a morning abandonment, while over in Ireland, Roscommon hosts seven contests between 13:20 and 16:40.

There are two more Extra Place races in Connacht and in the 13:55, it is noticeable that 13/2 General Moriviere has been turned around quickly after a strong third at Navan on September 18th.

Meanwhile, in the 15:00, Oskar High is 7/1 to make it a hat-trick after recent wins at Sligo and Ballinrobe.

Bath’s eight races between 13:50 and 17:35 conclude the afternoon action, before the focus switches to Newcastle in the evening, where they host another octet of contests from 16:55 to 20:30.

Each and every race on the card carries Betfred’s Neck Or Less promotion and in the closer, it is tough to look past 4/1 Royal Guard. The three-year-old broke his maiden at Wolverhampton last month and Richard Fahey will be confident he can back it up on Tyneside.

Whenever you bet on Racing, Betfred.
