New Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho says the current group can develop into “something special” under boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (pictured) this season (Man Utd 8/1 Premier League Outright).
The England international is now the second most expensive England player of all time behind new team-mate Harry Maguire.
Sancho, a former Manchester City academy player, has signed a five-year deal at Old Trafford after deciding to return to the Premier League following a successful spell with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
The 21-year-old scored 50 goals and registered 57 assists in 137 appearances for Dortmund, but he says the time has come for a fresh start.
He told reporters: “I’ll always be grateful to Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play first-team football, although I always knew that I would return to England.
“The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true, and I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League.
“This is a young and exciting squad, and I know, together, we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve.”
Sancho’s deal was not the only big announcement on Friday, with Tottenham (40/1 Premier League Outright) confirming that Son Heung-Min has extended his stay at the club until 2025.
Son has signed a new four-year contract at spurs, having already made 280 appearances for the club.
The 29-year-old has now committed his best years to Spurs, and says the decision to stay was an easy one.
Son said: “There was no decision. It was easy. I’m so happy to be here and will be so glad to see the fans again soon.
“It was already a big honour to play here for six years. The club have showed me massive, massive respect, and obviously, I’m very happy to be here.”
