Bet you can’t guess two absolute certain starters for England who play Italy at Wembley tonight, in the nation’s most important match for 55 years?
Step forward of course Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling!
The skipper (above), who is evens with us at Betfred to join City from Spurs this summer, is 7/2 to score first tonight – and 80/1 to match Geoff Hurst’s exploits in winning the 1966 World Cup and score a hat-trick.
Kane is 4/1 at Betfred to be the Euro 2020 top goalscorer having scored four, which is one less than Ronaldo. He’s also 3/1 second favourite to be the official player of the tournament behind 13/8 favourite Sterling (below).
The player of the tournament betting is getting interesting with the victor more often than not coming from the winning nation – and as well as England’s two standout performers we’ve had great interest over the weekend in United’s defensive kingpin Harry Maguire, (pictured below left, with John Stones), who has been cut to 14/1.
It’s a £4million loss for me if England win tonight but I REALLY do hope they do so, for the country needs this lift that only football can provide. I can understand all the logic about it being a tight game, but with Italy being the tournament’s top scorers and us now starting to find the net surely we can expect goals.
Of our many specials, Sterling to score and England win in 90 minutes is now 5/1 while the Three Lions to win both halves is a tempting 9/1.
Bolton Wanderers fan and Betfred regular David Phillips, a 66-year-old roofing contractor from Walkden, is on a roll after picking up £2,330 from a £50 double that both semi-finals would end up 1-1 on 90 minutes.
Worryingly he reckons it could be 1-0 for Italy tonight (13/2 with Betfred) so consequently won’t be putting a bet on as he can’t go against England!
And finally let’s forget all about this idea that we’ve done great to actually get to a final. WE WANT TO WIN IT AND WIN IT WELL, BY AT LEAST TWO CLEAR GOALS!
