We’re all getting a bit giddy about our prospects tonight against Germany at Wembley.

I’m amongst the worst, but my message to Betfred punters out there is to keep calm! I’m convinced we’ll win the Euros, and in doing so triumph in our first international competition since Sir Alf and the boys back in 1966.

Two-hundred particularly patriotic Betfred punters have got a quid, or even more, on England beating Germany 5-1 just like we did in 2001.

That may be a bit ambitious even for this vibrant, young England team that’s coming to the boil nicely.

The most popular scoreline bet with us is England 2-1 Germany, which is available at 8/1.

I’m convinced we’ll put one over Germany and win by at least two goals – and in normal time without the need of a dreaded penalty shoot-out!

Betfred have England 8/5 favourites to win with Germany 19/10.

Harry Kane is 7/2 favourite to get his shooting boors back on and put us on our way with the opener, with City pair Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden at 6/1 and 8/1 respectively to notch the first goal of the most anticipated of games.

With Holland being knocked out by the Czech Republic, that side of the draw has opened up for the Three Lions who have shortened to 5/1 along with Italy to be outright winners, with Germany and Belgium both at 6/1 with Betfred.

And finally, I was so sad to see Ronaldo’s Portugal get knocked out by Belgium. But that’s tournament football and Belgium were the better side – and even absolute greats like Ronaldo can’t win every time.

Whenever you bet, Betfred
