Ohio is the first venue of the night, with Thistledown hosting a 10-race dirt card which starts at 17:20 and concludes at 22:36.

The race of the night comes at 22:04, with over $300,000 going to the winner of the Ohio Derby – with 11 runners set to go over 1m 1f.

The Todd Pletcher-trained Promise Keeper (10/3) is expected to be among the favourites with the three-year-old seeking a third consecutive victory.

The action moves to Florida next, where Gulfstream host a mixed 12-race dirt-and-turf card – the going is fast ahead of the opener, which is due off at 17:21.

We stay on the East Coast for the third meeting on Saturday, with 10 races in total Belmont Park, which begins at 18:00 BST and ends at 22:44.

The biggest race of the night comes at 21:40, the Mother Goose Stakes, where only five runners will battle it out on the dirt track.

After winning her first two races, Always Carina (4/6) is expected to go off the favourite but Make Mischief could prove a big price after some consistent recent performances.

The Texas track of Lone Star also offers a mixture of turf and dirt racing, with their 10-race card getting underway at 20:35 and concludes with the last at 00:47.

We head to the West coast for meeting number five, with a nine-race dirt card at Los Alamitos – the opener is at 21:00 BST and it runs through until 00:58.

Five runners are set to go to post for the 22:28, with almost $63,000 of prize money going to the winning trainer.

Scary Fast Smile (SP) has not been out of the top three in his seven races to date and takes the step up to 1m this evening.

We stay in California for meeting number seven, with Pleasanton hosting a nine-race card which gets underway with a Maiden Claiming race at 22:45.

Louisiana track Evangeline Downs also hosts nine races on Saturday, starting with 5f Claiming race at 23:50 and concluding with a Maiden Claiming at 03:26.

For night owls, there are two more meetings in the early hours. Charles Town starts at midnight and concludes at 03:32.

Prairie Meadows in Iowa is the other card, with 10-races from 00:00 to 03:52 and going Fast on their dirt track.

Race 7 (02:34) looks a competitive Claiming race over 6f and I’m River (SP) is a five-year-old that looks to have every chance as he looks to build on a success at this track earlier this month.
