There are four meetings scheduled to take place in the UK and Ireland on the final day of 2020, with action coming from Warwick, Lingfield, Punchestown and Newcastle.

Warwick gets the New Year’s Eve action underway with a seven-race card, running between 12:16 and 15:25, while Betfred’s extra place offer is available in the opener and the 13:20.

Alberto’s Dream (7/1 LPS Carlow Conditional Jockeys’ Veterans’ Handicap Chase) was a winner at this venue back in 2018 and has finished third on his last three outings.

The 11-year-old has performed strongly in those three trips and a return to a left-handed track should suit in the 13:50 contest.

Lingfield is next up with a further seven races set to play out between 12:25 and 15:25, with the extra place promotion up for grabs in the 13:00.

Furzig was a decisive winner of the Betway Handicap in 2019 and the 5/2 favourite looks well placed to win the latest edition on Thursday.

The Richard Fahey-trained charge has been handed a good draw in stall two and recent outings have suggested he is raring to go.

Ireland’s only card of the day comes from Punchestown with seven races due to take place between 12:30 and 15:40.

Punters can make use of Betfred’s extra place offer in the 13:05, 14:40 and 15:10.

Newcastle brings a close to the day when its eight race card gets going at 14:15 before concluding at 17:50, with an extra place available in the 16:20.

There’s plenty of value in 2/1 fav Marwari in the 17:20.

The four-year-old put in a career-best run when finishing second at Newcastle 16 days ago and should improve further here.
