Another weekend of footie action means one thing (amongst others) – it’s time for another Saturday Footie Treble!

With there only being four Premier League fixtures again this week, we thought we’d delve into the Championship once more, not that it did us any good last week!

We managed to land one-out-of-three last Saturday, and we¬†surely can’t do any worse this week.

We’ve dusted ourselves down, and we’re ready go again!

Cardiff City v Reading

We’re going to start with our pick from the Championship, in the game between Cardiff and Reading.

Cardiff were involved in one of our picked games last week – they took on Nottingham Forest. We backed Forest to do the business, and naturally, Cardiff ran out 2-0 winners.

The Bluebirds impressed us so much that, we’re going to back them against top of the league Reading this week.

Don’t all sigh at once – there’s some logic to this. The last time Cardiff beat Reading was 2015, and that was at the Cardiff City Stadium, just like the 3pm kick-off on Saturday.

In fact, since that win five years ago, Cardiff have only lost once at home to the Royals. Their last two meetings at the Cardiff City Stadium have resulted in a draw.

Neil Harris’ side are due a home win against Reading, and we fancy them to get that on Saturday at 23/20.

Crystal Palace v Everton

Next up, we’re heading to the 3pm kick-off between Crystal Palace and Everton at Selhurst Park.

Both teams were really impressive last week – Everton recording an emphatic 5-2 win over West Bromwich Albion, and Crystal Palace stunned Manchester United at Old Trafford 3-1.

Everton have been brilliant in both of their opening two games, to be fair. The display against Spurs, before the thrashing of WBA, was sublime, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin must be banging on the door of Gareth Southgate with his recent performances.

Palace have also won two games from two, meaning somebody’s 100% record could potentially go here.

It’s hard to look past Carlo Ancelotti’s side in this one. We think they’ll make it three wins from three at 11/10.

West Bromwich Albion v Chelsea

Our final pick comes from The Hawthorns, in the game between West Brom and Chelsea.

The Baggies have been comfortably beaten in their opening two fixtures – 3-0 by Leicester, and as we mentioned above, 5-2 by Everton. It doesn’t get any easier for them with Chelsea coming to town.

Frank Lampard’s side bounced back from the defeat against Liverpool last week with six goal thrashing of Barnsley in the Carabao Cup. Summer signing Kai Havertz arrived for a lot of money, and his hat-trick midweek will only help him settle.

We can’t see anything other than a Chelsea win with the attacking talent they have at their disposal. It’ll be too difficult for West Brom to keep them out, despite some bright moments of their own against Everton last week.

Chelsea to win at 4/11.
