A new bathroom and replacement double glazing are now sure bets for a Yorkshire housewife who has won a whopping £127,995 at Betfred.
The 62-year-old mother of one had the win of a lifetime after all four horses in her £1 Lucky 15 won their respective races.
She backed Perfect Grace and Break The Rules at Southwell, as well as Queen of Rio and Fiveandtwenty at Ripon – all at long odds.
She actually won £116,429, but her windfall was boosted thanks to Betfred’s promotion that rewards punters who have four winners in a Lucky 15.
The jubilant winner said: “I try to study form as best as I can, checking out the in-form jockeys and trainers, and I always go for those at long odds.
“It took me probably an hour or so to make my selections. I noticed Franny Norton was on the last one, and he’s doing well at the moment.
“What happened was I saw the first of my picks had won the 2.20 at Southwell, and then I needed a nap in the afternoon because I suffer from heart problems. When I woke up, I saw I’d got two other winners, with Fiveandtwenty due to run that evening.
“I didn’t tell my husband what was going on, even though I knew I got something back already – I just went down to the Betfred shop to find out exactly how much I had won after Fiveandtwenty’s win at Ripon. When I got home, I showed him the slip and it seemed to take him ages to focus!
“We’ll be paying off some of the mortgage and sorting bills with our winnings – and then it’s a new bathroom and replacing the double glazing. Holidays can wait until everything is sorted out with the pandemic.
“I’ve always liked it at Betfred, especially the staff who are so friendly. I’ve been a customer for ten or twelve years, and think the Lucky 15 is a sound bet – especially if you go for long odds like I always do.”
Betfred boss Fred Done said: “This canny Yorkshire lass clearly knows how to pick my pocket, proving that anyone can win big at Betfred with a small stake.
“Hopefully after those home improvements are sorted she’ll be in a position to go on the holiday of a lifetime to go with the bet of a lifetime.”
