All eyes will be on Belmont Park on Saturday for the Belmont Stakes – usually the last leg of the US Triple Crown.
The global coronavirus outbreak has wreaked havoc on the racing schedule but fans will get the opportunity to enjoy a special day of racing at Belmont Park, albeit with some minor changes.
The showpiece Belmont Stakes, which makes up part of Saturday’s 12-race card, has been shortened to just one-mile one-furlong, while the running order has also been switched around.
However, it should still prove to be an exciting day of action Stateside with plenty of opportunities on offer.
Tiz The Law (4/5 fav Belmont Stakes) looks to be well worth his favourite tag ahead of the $1million Grade 1 race at 22:42.
The three-year-old has already picked up back-to-back wins in 2020, easing to victory on both occasions at Gulfstream.
Elsewhere, Bob Baffert’s Gamine looks a solid option ahead of going out in the Grade 1 $300,000 Longines Acorn Stakes at 21:15.
Baffert has enjoyed a huge amount of success on this card in previous years and shouldn’t run into too many problems.
Elsewhere on the card, Oleksandra has rightly attracted plenty of interest in the third Grade 1 – the Jaipur Stakes.
The five-year-old filly goes over six furlongs on the turf in this one and will be hoping to put on another fast-finishing show under Joel Rosario.
